In Profundis progress (5/8)

Been going very slow due to frustrations with the Kickstarter project and trying to work on another article about it, to get up whatever little publicity I can in the few days until the project inevitably fails.  I don't think the game will be abandoned when the project fails to make its goal, but it is going to take me longer, much longer probably, to work on.  As such, it'll probably be longer between posts here unfortunately.

  1. It is sad that the kickstarter project will likely fail, but don't give up if it does. You have to have faith in your game for it to turn into something great. I don't want to see this game lose its potential greatness just because its creator lost interest from lack of donations. If you believe in your game, then put your heart and soul into it whether or not the kickstarter succeeds. If you can't do that, then your game is already dead. Besides, all you need to do is start a new kickstarter within a month with a new trailer showing off actual gameplay elements once you at least partially finish the items system. The reason you will have failed with the first kickstarter is because you have failed to demonstrate an actual game in your little proposal video. As cool as a random world with cellular automation based physics is, you have to admit that that alone would get boring pretty fast... and that is all we were really given at the beginning.

  2. Agreeing. Doesn't mean you have to give up on Kickstarter, you already got platformer basic stuff set up.
